How to choose bridesmaids jewelry

Wedding planning has countless elements. From plate settings, to flowers, to theme. There are so many little components that come together to create a day that you and your loved ones will cherish forever.

One such detail is jewelry, bridesmaids jewelry. You may find yourself asking these questions. What kind of jewelry should I choose? Should I choose statement pieces or dainty pieces? Necklaces or no necklaces? We have put together a list of things to consider when choosing jewelry for your favorite squad. Hopefully you’ll find some pointers to narrow down your choices and select pieces that will compliment and elevate the tones and themes of your wedding.

Choose Simple Styles

Don’t over complicate things. To start things off, decide if you prefer a stud or drop style earring. Consider simple styles when choosing your pieces. Remember, you still have hair and makeup. So choose pieces that don’t take away from the final look, pieces with subtle elegance that complement the dress style and colour.  The Gaia Earrings or the Hera Earrings are beautiful timeless pieces that are not overpowering.

Consider the neckline

Dresses come in many different necklines. Take that into consideration when picking pieces of jewelry you want to go with. If you decide to go with a sweet-heart or deep-V neckline, you can include a necklace. If you have a one-shoulder neckline, it might be best to do a statement earring and opt out the necklace. These beautiful Flora Drops from a local YQG shop, Iris and Marnie, are absolutely stunning. The shop carries unique small batch hand-crafted pieces. So if you’re looking for one-of-a-kind pieces for the bridesmaids (or you!) you’ll find really great options here.

Stick to your wedding colours

Gold? Silver? Rose Gold jewelry? Consider the bridesmaids dress colours and your wedding colour scheme when choosing. For example, if you’re colour scheme consists of soft peaches, navy or deep emerald, gold jewelry might be a better choice. If you’ve chosen dresses with pearl details or clear beading designs, consider going with silver to compliment the dress. The Zelus Earring is a beautiful piece, soft and delicate with pearls.

Allow your bridesmaids to choose

Once you’ve chosen your metal colour (gold, silver or rose gold) and the general style you want to go with, consider allowing your bridesmaids to choose their own pieces. It’s one more thing to check off your list and also a great way to allow individual styles to shine through.

Whatever your choose, remember, this is YOUR big day. Take a step back and enjoy. Celebrate your love, because babe, you’re a sight for sore eyes!

Happy Wedding Planning! Support local, shop small.
